Last Sunday, Pastor Lawrence shared a key message that he received when he was on vacation in Iceland with his family. God gave him a dream/vision (depending on whether you think he is old or young J) and showed him a picture of a glorious tent and guided him to Isaiah 54:1-2:
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.”
As we receive this prophetic word, let us believe God for a year of fruitfulness and expansion for the church and for our ministries. As stakes are driven into the ground for strength, let us go deep in the Lord, deep in our love for God and in our relationship with the church family. It is by our love for each other that others will see that we are genuine in our love for them as they step into the church.
To accommodate more people, the stakes, the cords and the tent cover will be stretched. There is no other way if we do not want to remain stagnant in our spiritual growth. We must be willing and allow ourselves to be stretched and challenged to take on new assignments or overcome our giants to take possession of new territories. Let us not allow fear or discomfort to stop us from taking on new challenges and responsibilities as we mature and grow. Like Caleb, let us ask God for another mountain and not let the victories of the past stop us from fresh experiences and opportunities. Like Peter, we must learn to step out of the comfort of our boat and head towards the call of God even though it feels like we are stepping on water and will sink any moment.
Last Monday night at the Awesome Hour following this message, we had a faith stirring time as we sang and shouted in faith for our fruitfulness as promised in Isaiah 54:1:
“Sing, O barren, you who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.
If you are experiencing barrenness in any areas of your life, whether it is business, relationships, baby, health etc… I encourage you to take hold of this word and sing and shout in faith for the next week or so. God’s word will not return to him void. He is faithful and will bring to pass what He has declared. Sing and shout as your start and end your day. I am believing a bountiful harvest of fruitfulness for you and the church in the coming days.
