Wow, what an awesome first Sunday of *Advent, ushering in the great season of beginnings – the coming or arrival of Christ!
The whole church was in carnival mood: the Flea Market and the Korean Carnival Day, with authentic Korean cuisine and display of everything Korean – a joint fund-raising event for NexGenFun – the church building fund.
The show put up by the Koreans was mesmerizing. We were captivated by Deacon Han and his talented family, who sang, danced and played a variety of musical instruments. I especially enjoyed the classic piece, “On Wings of Song” so beautifully presented on flute and violin. There was also a splendid solo recitation of the complete chapter of John15, all 27 verses! The Hans are undoubtedly, one up on the Von Trapp family of the musical, “Sound of Music.”
The real life puppets’ skit was most hilarious, kept us in stitches with their antics. Everyone had an enjoyable time.
We express our heartfelt thanks to Pastor Park and Mrs Park for their love for NLRC, serving God, in organizing this event, bringing our Korean friends in making this event a reality. The effort put in by all helpers, contributors and supporters is tremendous. Joyful participation, fun and laughter filled the atmosphere, all culminating in making the whole morning a truly God blessed event. Doing what is good is an end in itself and such a service is a blessing. Words are insufficient, love makes everything possible. Love never fails. What a blessing leaning on the everlasting love of Christ, sharing the joy of the season with others.
With this and on behalf of the church I wish you a joyous Christmas and a healthy and blessed 2018.

*Advent is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning “coming”. (Wikipedia)
