Today, each of you will choose to join a Life group under a new leader or remain with your existing leader. This is an exciting exercise that will release freshness as we connect with new members and come under new or existing but re-energised leadership. We thank all who have faithfully served as cell leaders and cheer on all those who have agreed to serve as Life Group leaders (Life Leaders) for the next two years.
Life groups are relational groups where we can spur each other to grow to love God and others and support one another in every aspect of life as Kingdom family.
Besides being relational, every Life group must be missional. We are called to make disciples and our Life groups must exist for that purpose. If we exist just for fellowship and blessing one another, we will be like the Dead Sea where there is only inlet but no outlet. When the Life groups reach out to others, God’s power and grace will accompany us and the Life groups will experience freshness and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Besides being relational and missional, Life groups must be supported by prayer. Jesus had declared that His house must be a house of prayer. If we want our Life groups to be Jesus’ house, we must cover every activity with prayer in the Life group, in church or at the weekly Monday dawn prayer. Then the groups will not be sustained by human efforts but by the supernatural power of God.
Finally, Life groups must be strengthened weekly by God’s word. Jesus has declared that the word of God and not physical food alone gives us real life. For our Life groups to be vibrant and fruitful, every member must be hungry for the word of God. This is non-negotiable.
These new groups will be launched in 2018. May the Lord anoint and empower every Life group for His glory as you prayerfully join the new groups today. God bless.
