As pastors and church leaders, we love to pray and see the blessings of God upon our business and marketplace folks so that they will be witnesses of God’s goodness and be an influence in our community. If our business owners do well, their workers’ families will also benefit from the blessings. If you are in business or in the marketplace, please do not hesitate to call us to visit and pray for you. We will be most happy to come and pray for you no matter what size your business is. We have prayed for small businesses and even salesmen in their place of work.
Last week, Pastor Lawrence and I visited one of our church members’ factory in Shah Alam with his Life group leader and some of his Life group members and we were so amazed to see God’s wonderful blessings upon him and his group of companies. The company was doing so well that the whole workforce recently went on an all expenses paid vacation to Hokkaido in Japan.
As we toured and prayed for different parts of his five(5)-acre factory, here is what I observed that could have contributed to his success:
God is honoured in the business. We attended a thanksgiving service where Pastor Lawrence spoke on “living the life” and as the directors and staff thanked God for the blessings they have received for the year. We could see that God is given the acknowledgement as the source of success for the organisation.
- Spousal support
While his wife is no longer involved in the business, she is very much still in constant agreement and support of what the husband does at home, in the church or at work, namely, in all aspects of life.
- Joyful faithfulness
As we toured the factory, we met with so many staff that were so faithful and loyal to the organisation and it was evident that they serve with great ownership and joy. I overheard one of the department heads excitedly telling one of the directors that they just secured a container of orders from Cambodia as if this is her achievement as well. An organisation will certainly be successful if there are people who serve with such wonderful attitudes.
During the journey, the wife told me that her husband pursues his goals with a passion and will not give up until he gets what he wants. This is the type of persistence and faith that the Bible talks about.
- No resting on their laurels
Although the organisation has achieved great success, they continue to talk about expansion, improvements and venturing into new projects. This is important to prevent the organisation from plateauing and stagnancy.
- Teachable and changeable
During our tour, they pointed out things that have changed through what they have learned from visiting other organisations. They visited a Japanese factory and saw how the lighting in the factory improved and they came back and did the same to the factory in Shah Alam and they proudly pointed that out to us.
May God bless all our marketplace and business folks so that they will continue to shine for God.
